Facts About the Shoebill Stork
INTRODUCTION
The Shoebill Stork is an odd looking bird with a very wide beak. It is only found living native in swamps and marshes in eastern Africa. This is where the stork finds its food and builds its nest.
The stork gets its name from its oddly-shaped bill. This bill also has led to some interesting nicknames. For example, the English have nicknamed this bird the “whale-headed stork.” These storks are generally solitary and are almost never seen in groups.
