Facts About the Reticulated Giraffe
INTRODUCTION
Reticulated Giraffes are the tallest terrestrial mammal. They are called ‘reticulated’ because white lines separate the brown-colored patches on their skin coat. They exist widely across African savannas.
Of the nine subspecies of Giraffes, these are the most common type found in zoos. Their incredibly long necks are impressive; they do not struggle with other animals for food because they could browse and graze on leaves of treetops!
