Facts About the Polar Bear
INTRODUCTION
The Polar Bear is a large bear found living in the ice fields of the Arctic Ocean. They are the biggest species of bear in the world along with the Kodiak Brown Bears found in Alaska. They are considered to be closely related to the Brown Bear. The Polar Bears’ name actually means “Sea Bear” because they are known to not only spend much of their time close to the coast, but are also strong swimmers and have been spotted as far as 100 miles from the closest ice or land.
