Facts About the Pancake Tortoise
INTRODUCTION
The Pancake tortoise is one of the most unusual, and rarest tortoise species you would ever see. They possess a flat-shaped shell instead of a dome-shaped shell found in other tortoise species. This gives them a pancake appearance, hence their name.
They are faster than other tortoises and also possess unique characteristics and behaviors which help them to evade predators. They are not dangerous to humans and are relatively safe to handle. They are usually found in countries in the eastern part of the continent of Africa which includes countries like Tanzania, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.
