Facts About the Mayfly
INTRODUCTION
Mayflies are aquatic insects that belong to the same class of insects as dragonflies. The Mayfly is also known as Canadian soldier in the United States, and as shadflies or fishflies in Canada and the upper Midwestern U.S. In the United Kingdom, they are referred to as up-winged flies. There are over 3,000 species of mayfly worldwide that are grouped into in 42 families.
