Facts About the Kudu Antelope
INTRODUCTION
The Kudu Antelope is an African mammal. It is a kind of antelope with long spiral horns. Kudus belong to a group of animals called spiral-horned antelope. There are two different species of Kudu: the Greater Kudu and the Lesser Kudu. The Greater Kudu is much larger than the Lesser Kudu, and the two species live in different environments.
Kudu are herbivores that consume grasses, leaves, and occasionally fruit. However, they have been known to eat farmers’ plants as well. To some people they are a nuisance. The desire to protect crops, combined with the high value placed on Kudu horns, means that hunting by humans poses a great risk to the Kudu Antelopes.
