Facts About the Coyote
INTRODUCTION
Coyotes, also known as the Prairie Wolf, are native to North and Central America. However, they are thought to have come from the European Grey Wolf. They are a separate species in their own right. They are different from wolves in vocal sound patterns, as well as how they live in their pack.
The coyote’s scientific name, Canis latrans actually means barking dog.
