Facts About the Brown Pelican
INTRODUCTION
The Brown Pelican, also known as the Pelecanus Occidentalis, is mostly found in the coastal areas of southern and westerns United States. It is one of the most prominent birds found there; collectivity there are only three species of pelican found in the western hemisphere and the Brown Pelican is one of the two of those able to dive into water. Just like the other pelicans, it has the signature long bill that is between 11 to 14 inches.
