Facts About the Aphid
INTRODUCTION
Aphids are from the superfamily Aphidoidea. Aphids are a group of sap-sucking insects which can be found on many different plants. They often have the nicknames Plant Louse, Ant Cow, or Greenfly. There are more than 4,000 different species of the aphids but the most common and noticeable ones are Apple, Cabbage, Corn Root, Green Peach, and Cotton Aphids.
Aphids are known to be very serious plant pests and many crop farmers have issues with them. These insects can stunt the growth of the plant, submit viruses between plants and cause deformation. Aphids are found all over the world, anywhere with plants, gardens, or crops that they can feed on. The exact number of aphids isn’t known because they reproduce so quickly.
